Fun Day Trips to Discover Local Sights

It's amazing how many wonderful things are are around us everyday, yet we never seem to stumble upon them in our everyday routines.   There is so much history and natural wonders just outside your backdoor.  Unique restaurants, fun family activities, exciting things to do and sights to see are out there.  Why not take day trip or a 1/2 day trip and go see something new!

I have enjoyed planning little excursions for my family for years.  I've always tried to find something for the day that would interest each person, teenagers alike.   Our trips were very diverse, some full of nature and calmness, some eye opening and educational history, others were action packed fun.   The kids enjoyed even the most corny trips.   Today, I am still discovering new adventures, places I've never been and things I've never known.
